Kyrene Community Education Services

All enrichment classes are taught by qualified, experienced professionals in the after school environment. Select enrichment classes are taught by certified Kyrene teachers. Our goal is to offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities in areas including: Academic Assistance, Art, Chess, Critical Thinking, Dance, Etiquette, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Music and Drama, Health and Wellness, Science, and a variety of teacher taught classes.

The Kyrene Intramural program is designed to teach and model positive sportsmanship which empowers each player to play fairly. Our goal is to encourage competitive play without losing sight of respecting each other or having fun.

Kyrene offers both “cut” and “non-cut” sports for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Cut sports include: soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheer, softball, and baseball. The non-cut athletic opportunities include cross country, wrestling, and track and field. Each year, over 3,000 middle school students from the Tempe, Chandler, and Phoenix area participate in the Kyrene Athletic Program. The Kyrene Middle School Intramural program is designed to teach and model positive sportsmanship while providing a fun and competitive environment where students can represent their school.

Summer Academy is designed to provide enrichment opportunities through diversified curriculum that meet the interests of a wide range of students. Enrichment classes like Kid Top Chef, Comic Book Creations and Dodgeball have exposed students to new experiences and opportunities for learning.
